Communications
Work-only group messaging for your team, with actions, deadlines, read receipts and reporting.
Turning on Communications
The organisation owner turns on Communications in Settings > Modules. By default everyone can use it, and only owners and admins can create groups, delete messages, review reported messages and edit the usage policy. Change this in Team > Manage role permissions.
The usage policy
Communications is for work purposes only. The first time someone opens it they must read and agree to the usage policy, and again whenever the wording changes. A reminder also appears on the dashboard until it has been accepted. People with permission can change the wording in Communications > Communications settings.

Creating a group
Select the + button, give the group a name, and choose who should be in it: everyone, certain homes, sub-departments, roles or job titles, plus any individual people. The group keeps itself up to date — new starters who match join automatically and leavers drop out. A live count shows how many people will be in the group. Turn on Announcements only if only group admins should be able to post.
Who can see a group
Only members of a group can read its messages. Owners and admins do not get automatic access to other groups. Group admins can add or remove people, make others admins, pin messages and edit the group from Group info. Someone removed by an admin stays out even if they still match the group's choices.

Sub-departments
To build groups by sub-department, owners and admins tick where each person usually works in Team > Edit member. This is only used for Communications groups and does not limit what anyone can see.
Messaging
Messages work like WhatsApp. Long-press (or use the arrow on a message) to reply, react, pin, copy, report or see Message info. Type @ to mention someone — they are notified even if the group is muted. Ticks show when a message has been sent, delivered to everyone and read by everyone. Use the search bar to find messages in your groups.
Actions
Select the clipboard button next to the message box to send a message as an action, or make an existing message an action from its menu. Add an optional deadline, and choose who can sign it off: a specific person, anyone with a job title (for example Senior), or anyone in the group. A countdown shows how long is left, turning amber in the last hour and red when overdue. Overdue actions are flagged in the chat list, in All actions and on the dashboard so they can be cleared as soon as possible.

Deleting and reporting messages
Only people with the Delete messages permission can delete a message. Everyone then sees "This message was removed by …"; the original is kept for moderators and the deletion is recorded in the audit log. If you are not happy with a message, select Report and choose a reason. Reports go to the people who review reported messages; the sender is never told who reported it.
Notifications
Open the menu in Chats and select Turn on notifications on this device. Notifications show the group and sender but never the message text. You can mute a group from Group info. On iPhone or iPad, first add BoolCare to your Home Screen (Share > Add to Home Screen) and open it from there.
Using it offline
Recent messages stay readable without a signal. Messages you send offline show a clock and are sent automatically when you reconnect. Search, reactions, actions and group changes need a connection.
