Doctors List

Flag residents for a routine GP review, send the list to the surgery, and record the outcome.

Turning on the Doctors List

The organisation owner turns on the Doctors List in Settings > Modules. By default every member of staff can view the list and add residents to it, senior carers and above can record GP outcomes, and owners and admins can manage GP surgeries. Change this in Team > Manage role permissions.

Setting up GP surgeries

In Doctors List > Settings, select Add GP surgery and enter its name, the email address the list should be sent to, and a contact name, phone number and address. Use Send Test to check the email arrives, and switch a surgery off if you no longer use it.

A resident's GP surgery

On a resident's GP / Doctors tab, select Set surgery to choose their registered surgery and, optionally, their named GP. Residents added to the Doctors List are sent to this surgery automatically. If a resident has no surgery set, their entry says so until one is added.

Adding a resident to the list

Select Add to Doctors List, choose the resident and enter the reason for the GP review. You can also set the priority, a preferred review date and any relevant notes. The Doctors List is for routine, non-urgent reviews only; urgent concerns must follow your emergency procedure.

Sending the list to the surgery

Each GP surgery has a card showing how many residents are new and how many have been sent and are waiting for the visit. Select Preview & send list to check the list, which includes everyone not yet seen and marks new residents. Then choose Send email to email it to the surgery, or Mark as sent if you have printed it, phoned it through or emailed it yourself. Lists are sent when you choose to; they are not sent automatically.

Recording the GP outcome

After the GP visit, select Record Outcome on the resident's entry. Record whether they were seen, when and by whom, the GP's notes and actions taken, and whether follow-up is needed. Entries without follow-up are completed and move to History. Entries that need follow-up stay visible with their follow-up date, and can be added back to the list for the next visit.

Doctors List report

Reports > Doctors List Report lists GP review requests by home, status and date, and can be exported as a PDF.
